How much is admission?
All Summer Movies in the Park are FREE. Some sites do charge for parking so check the event details on our website for the movie you plan to attend.
Your schedule says that movies start at “dusk”. What time is dusk?
Dusk is approximately 15 minutes after sunset. We cannot specify the exact time each movie will start because sunset times vary throughout the season and also on-site conditions may change which could alter the start time somewhat. Please click here to see what time sunset is on the date of the event you’re attending.
So what time should I arrive?
Come early and enjoy our beautiful parks and locations! Most events take place in County and city parks, while some are happening at exciting locations like the USS Midway Museum and the San Diego Harbor area. Take advantage of pre-movie activities that are taking place before the movie begins. Check each schedule listing for an overview of what’s happening!
Is smoking allowed?
All movie events are smoke-free. That includes tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaporizing products. Thank you for your cooperation.
Can I bring my dog?
Many parks allow dogs. Check the Event Specifics section of each event to confirm whether pets are allowed and remember – always keep your pet on a leash and always clean up after your pet.
What should I bring?
Plan to bring chairs or blankets for your comfort. Chairs are not provided at any of our events. Also, feel free to pack a picnic and enjoy your meal under the stars! Some locations will have food available, so check the Event Specifics section of each location and date for more details. Bring a sweater or light jacket – it will cool down once the sun sets.

Most locations have ample free parking, but some of our sites have special instructions (such as the USS Midway). Please check the Event Specifics section of the event you plan to attend.
Is there food / popcorn available at the events?
It depends. Some events will have food and concessions available for purchase. www.ipadr.xyz Some will have food trucks and some will not have food available. Please check the Event Specifics section of the event you plan to attend.
What if it rains?
In the event of rain or high winds a movie may be canceled. If it rains on the day of the movie you’re planning to attend, please contact the parks & rec office to hear up-to-date information on possible cancelations.
